okay, i think you should have recieved the email, but anyway, yiyun asked me to post it here too(: so i'll just copy and paste it here!

note: i couldnt think of anymore back designs, so if you dont want this back design, please suggest some nicer ideas! (:
the designs will be fine-tuned so dont worry, these are not the final designs.
if you have any ideas on how to make the current designs nicer, please email with suggestions as well! :D

For this year's 团员大会, we have to split into 3 groups and prepare a dish for the whole CO(including alumni).

All of you will have to come up with a proposal on your dish.
- Propasal includes grp members, ingredients, dish, venue (to be submitted to me by 6 dec 6pm, 1800, seah.yiru@dhs.sg)
You will be released after 检讨 on friday during jixun.
Meet up at somebody's house and prepare the dish :)
Each group will be given $30, if you spend more than that you have to split among yourselves

YOOO EVERYONE!! I'M HERE AGAIN!!! Here's details about our tby outing in the holidays:

What: Games + BBQ

(RELAX, beef and mutton will NOT be served :D, if you are a vegetarian or have any food preferences, you can inform yibei via sms)

Date/Time: 9 December 2009 / 1.30pm to around 8plus or 9plus

(Please have your own lunch before you come, dinner will be BBQ)

Venue: Marine Cove Area C No. 31

How to get there:

1. You can meet us at the underpass to marine parade promenade at 1.30pm - we will bring you there :D

2. Go there yourself - you can take bus 401 to a bus stop called East Coast Park Svc Rd, Tennis Centre and it will be a walkable distance to the BBQ pit (not encouraged to do so huh XD, in case you get lost)

3. Get your parents to fetch you there and they can park the car at C4

* All details and landmarks are in the following map *

Some games that we will be playing include all the ball games, volleyball captainball etc etc. You are all encouraged to bring your own ball to play, so that there is enough for everyone to participate. We may also be cycling, so i suggest you all bring along some money for that too. :D

Hello everyone!! It's after the eoys already! YES!! In case all of you are really totally horribly terribly like omg-ly bored after the eoys (like me), here's a joke:

TBY Chalet 2008 at Aloha Changi.

Yay, after many phone calls and a lot of googling, we have a chalet to stay in!
We'll be staying in Cranwell Bungalow 1 at Aloha Changi.

Here are the details for the chalet:
Date: 27th November 2008 (Thursday)
Time: 3PM (earliest time for checking in*) to next morning, 10.30AM (latest time for checking out*).

*Vivien's mom will be helping us check in and out.

The estimated amount of money that everyone has to pay each is $10.00. We will confirm the amount after the chalet.
Those who have not paid Vivien Tay (3M) for TBY fund, please pay her as soon as possible.

How to get there (from Aloha's website):

BY CAR

If you're coming from the north,
take SLE/TPE, and exit to Loyang Ave (towards Changi Village). *

If you're coming from the west,
you can either take AYE/ECP or PIE to TPE/SLE, and exit to Loyang Ave (towards Changi Village). *

* Go along Loyang Ave (it's quite a long and windy route) and turn left into Cranwell Road. Our chalets are located along Cranwell, Gosport, Andover, Leuchars, Catterick, Netheravon, Halton, Sealand and Biggin Hill Roads. You can check out our map to locate your chalet.

BY TRAIN/BUS

Take the east bound train to Tampines MRT station. Transfer to Bus no. 29. Check out our map to locate your chalet and determine where you should alight.

OR

Take the east bound train to Pasir Ris MRT station. We have a Shuttle bus service commuting to & from Pasir Ris MRT station. Click here for the shuttle bus service schedule.

To check-in, please come to the reception office along Netheravon Road.

Food

We'll be having potluck this time so please bring some COOKED food if you can.

Just to assure you, we'll also be getting pizza and KFC deliveries so no one will go hungry!

We decided that you won't enjoy party games (like musical chairs) so we'll settle for simpler things like:

Watching DVDs
Playing cards
Playing board games
MAHJONG!
Volleyball (I think there's a court somewhere.)

Those who can bring some of the logistics (e.g. cards, mahjong set, DVDs etc.), please bring them!!!

Pls note that your CIP hours for the ASEAN Summit event has been successfully recorded. However, the CIP teacher-in-charge has asked that you guys write a reflection about the CIP at the Dunman ASEAN Plus (which is the so called ASEAN summit). Do remember to slot the reflection (a short paragraph) into your portfolio otherwise the hours cannot be recognised.

The main purpose of this is to encourage all of you to reflect on your community work. It is also to do with helping the school in its service, to build more partnerships and links with overseas schools, encourage DHS students to develop a global outlook, learn to cooperate and play a part in a larger event.

So pls use the title: 'Reflections on Performance at Dunman High ASEAN Plus 2008 (Community Involvement Project)' for your reflections.

interview for next comm tmr, 18th june. Pls be at classroom 1B at the following scheduled timing and you'll be asked to go to LT2 when it's ur turn. Pls treat this interview SERIOUSLY.

Cassandra, Jillian, Sihui, Vivien and Jin Jia pls report at 10.45am LATEST.
The rest report at 12.45pm LATEST. Don't be late.
The interview will take around 15minute for each.
Pls come in any sch based shirt plus school skirt/ pants.

And just a reminder to those involved in the TBY performance on thurs: pls be in co room by 2PM LATEST in ur concert attire (long sleeve white shirt, school skirt/pants, stockings/black socks, court shoes, co badge and sch badge, tie). Jiaqian is back to post the pictures AGAIN. Arent u all just happy? (: haha

well... i received a comment from one of the viewer, who's none other than alyssa. apparently, i made a very serious mistake in my previous post. The masterpiece that i mentioned was made by her only. and the words ought to be: 弹拨乐 rawks. and not dhsco-tby rocks.

i hereby apologise for the mistake made and for the inconvenience caused.

ohmy... i just sounded like a professional writer. COOL. hahaha

hmmm... i shall attempt to tell a story about yesterday through pictures. hahaha

ENJOY! (:

this was the first sight that greeted us when we reached siloso beach. See that stretch of sand and the clear blue water! aint it just NICE? But apparently, the weather decided to go against us and spoil our day! look at that dark and gloomy sky ):

The wind was seriously very strong yesterday. i tried to fold my shirt but the wind kept blowing it thus i gave up and just stuffed my shirt into my bag-.-

The few of them decided to play vball so off they went! however, they left us (those who didnt want to play vball) behind): So, we went in search of something to entertain all of us!

The rest of us finally decided on something! we saw a pretty coconut tree and a huge stone and decided to take pictures! haha

TAKE NOTE: joyc we werent posing with coconut trees! >< you made us sound like retards): we were just merely taking pictures to remember this wonderful outing!

The weather finally turned better after lunch. Look at the sky now. SEE! it has finally cleared up. hahah. it became very hot so we (minus a few exceptions) decided to soak ourselves in the water. haha

The four of them - prida, serene, alyssa, cheryl went down first. cuz the rest of us just didnt want to go down. hahah

However in the end, they made us go down too. and we played games! hahaha look at us! posing for the camera again.

I saw a scenic view while i was on the shuttle bus travelling towards the bus interchange. the view was definitely PRETTY! However, due to my slow actions to capture the image, this was the nicest picture i could get ): so yup yup, this the picture.

The eight of us (including cheryl, who's not in this picture as she was the camerawoman for this one) decided not to join the rest for dinner. Thus, we headed back home.

this picture was taken at the Harbour Front MRT station, as you all can see from the pic. well.. if u cant, lemme give u a hint! Look at the top right-hand corner of the picture, do you all see a sign "D"? So, obviously that's one of the exit in the MRT right?

anw... we really had lots of fun ytd. well.. i dunno abt the others actually, but that's what i felt. Just look at all our faces! hahah we are all SMILING(:

haha this is my FIRST TIME posting! (after the SUPER FUN tby outing @sentosa)

yay! lol let's have another one soon! (:

Firstly, I want to make some amendments to the previous posts!!!!

The YUMMY yellowish-white fishballs were provided by me, ALYSSA.

(and so were the not-so-yummy colourful ones..sry people! >.<)

How could you do this to me, Joyc...

After I painstakingly carried the whole carton of fishballs all the way to another island for you people......

I feel hurt.

We were not cam-whoring!!!!
really and seriously.
We just want some photos for MEMORIES' sake.
And the beach was so nice and the view so wonderful....

(okay maybe this part is not really true)

haha i shall now talk about the outing (even though joyc has already posted i shall talk about the things she have not mentioned!)

In the end, EVERYONE

*hint: huimin is in the water; yuewan and rene didn't come*
managed to pick up their courage to enter the waters of Siloso Beach and dunk their whole self in!
(we went in right after lunch and amazingly, I think I experienced motion sickness just floating
around in the sea -.-)

We tried to 'swim' in the shallow waters..
(Cheryl tried to teach us doggy paddle)
We played with serene's volleyball in the sea..
(and risked it floating away into the open sea where we could never get it back)
We just held hands in a circle and tried to prevent each other from being carried away by the waves....
It was fun! (:
(and the 2 certain liuqin people missed out everything)

After that, everyone became very 'stone' and someone randomly suggested captain's ball.
So we split up into 2 groups and played captain's ball in the shelter!
(I dunno why too, but I guess cause everyone was just too lazy to get back under the sun)

haha, captain's ball (the handicapped one!) was funny!
LOL laooda say we're training for next time's inter-yuezu.. -.-
she said, "tby must not lose to xianyue again!!"
haha!

We found out that tall people are MOSTLY better captains than short people...
We found out that tall people are MOSTLY better defenders than short people...
I didn't say always, so no offence, people! (:

And me and jq got seriously cheated by Sakae.
We were dehydrated and desperate for a drink after Captain's ball and decided to get a can of drink there while the rest went to change.
Can of Yeo's ice lemon tea = $1.85???!!!

(and it didn't even last us 10 seconds -.-)

SUPER not worth it.

Word of advice:

If you're playing by the beach and feel a sudden need for a cold drink, DO NOT be piggish and save the 8-min walk to the nearest vending machine beside the toilet, and instead buy from Sakae, which is a 4-min walk. If you add in the super long time we took to queue to buy the drink, it would have already add up to much more than 8-min. THAT'S ALL, FOLKS! (or tbyians)

hello all!
omg im actually the first to post!
after the EVER SO EXCITING but rare TBY OUTING!!!!!

Woo... we had so much fun y'know!
First we met up and go together, i was.. late, as usual.
But guess what?
The usually always punctual biyu was later...
waaaaaaaay later.
and kim was actually early?!?!?!

So, we headed our asses to the Siloso beach, and got up the BLUE tram.
Yes, biyu BLUE :D

Yep we went there and saw a CLOUDY sky to our dismay.
Look what you've done, weather forecast, for telling us that yesterday.
Regardless, the ever so COURAGEOUS and BRAVE tbyians continued their quest to play volleyball under the clouds.

Actually, it was just jobina, laoda, me &kim.
I think.

The rest were busy posing with coconut trees!
oh my god are they *****s or what?!
oops! i did it again.

Oh anyway, after that.
We had our FIRST VERY OWN [or at least the first im actually present at] TBY VOLLEYBAL CHAMPIONSHIP!!
We split into our own little groups of 4 and 3!

Well, my group consists of *cough*pros*cough* Sherlyn laoda, Jobina, Me & Cheryl!
i think.
So, we pwned the loud hailers group with
NONE OTHER THAN OUR live radios ALYSSA &JQ's group!

Then we killed serene's group off too!
Slay away, people!!!

So fun right.
Then we were feeling tired and HUNGRY.
No, actually, my godly powers weren't strong enough to stop the gravity from dragging the raindrops down the clouds!

we ate beehoon.
we played more vball.
we ate ice cream.
we were tired and went to shower.

Then, the nondinner people went home!
We, the 5 ~~smart~~ hungry people, Kim, Serene, Laoda, Biyu &I headed to vivo and had our dinner.
After much .... discussion, we ate at MARCHE omg MARCHE im broke.

Awesome, we walked around the original swiss market for awhile and 4 of us got Rotii with smoked salmon.
Awesome!!!!!!!
while kim got herself some meat.
What a carnivore, just like leeshiying.

What's more, she got herself some ~~alcohol~~ drink which a man came and served kindly.
So fun man!
Then we went to candy empire and do our share of..
Window shopping.

Hey ppl… its 1 week plus to SYF…I hope ur are practising real hard now. I do see some improvement in some of ur attitude towards CO prac n all… tt’s very good.. keep up the gd work! But some of ur are still not coming for prac, late for prac etc. TBY, we really need to buck up. There is improvement of the music, but its still not enough. We are still far from our target. It is very worrying. I hope the Malaysia trip did bond ur together. This is the time we really really need to come together and work towards that common goal. The co room will be open every single day even on sun, those tt want to prac but cant find a place to prac, u can go co room. As long as ur want to prac, the co room will be open for ur. Recess time, b4 school, aft school, watever.. I hope ur will initiate practices yourselves, n not wait for us to add practice for ur.. its pointless, if we add lots of prac, but ur hearts are somewhere else during prac. I know ur have a lot of other stuff to do, but as long as it is possible to postpone them, please do. At least for this 1 week plus.. although I need ur to concentrate on CO now, ur must not neglect ur studies too. So please do not use CO as an excuse to not hand in homework, not go for lessons etc. I don’t wish to hear from any teachers that ur are using CO as an excuse to escape from hw/lessons watever. U mite think I am very naggy or watever, but pls pls pls pls pls work harder. Still the same thing, if any of ur need help, feel free to ask any seniors, I am sure they will be willing to come to help ur. Remember! 音乐要发自内心，才能进入内心！

My dearest TBY, your seniors esp. sherlyn are putting in a lot of effort. Please put in slightly more effort on your own part. CHERISH the seniors who come back for they dun come by easily. It’s a sense of pride and belonging that compels them to do so. Please do listen to them. I’m worried now. Very worried. I will come back. I hope to see improvement.

SYF is 70 days away. That is less than 3 months to go. I believe that all of you know of our current music standard. Is this what the legendary DHSCO is supposed to be. Is this the DHSCO that has won numerous gold with honours and the envy of all the other school’s chinese orchestra. I don’t think so. Do your feel proud when you say that you are a member of DHSCO. If so then ask yourselves why DHSCO should be proud to have you. I see people talking in the middle of practice. I see people huning through the whole of the practice. For those that don’t know, there are only 80 slots for SYF. Once you miss this chance, it will no longer come along again. Let me make this clear to you. At this point if any of you have no regards for SYF, Gongyan or anything to do with DHSCO, you are not welcomed. Let me make this clear to you, no one in this orchestra is indispensable. DHSCO need people that love what they are doing, so even if you are godly at your instrument but you do not love DHSCO, we don’t want you. I hope your understand that being a member of DHSCO is not just clinching the gold with honours. I believe that not everyone of you would join DHSCO if it just all about the music and to be in a top orchestra. I honestly tell you that at the start of my life in DHSCO I didn’t like it one bit at all. I’m even considered as a delinquent in DHSCO as I have ponned 5 months straight. What made me change my opinion was the friendship and the feeling of being part of a big family. If even someone like me can do it so can any of you. Look around you, the people in your section are the people that you have spend numerous hours during the holidays with. I’m sure that these are the people that have laughed and cried with you. Even if you are not willing to work hard for the orchestra, at least work hard for the friendships that you have made in DHSCO. I know that the endless hours of practice are torturous. But practice really makes perfect. If you don’t put in the effort you will never get the result. For those of you that don’t know, all the schools out there are out to get us. I’m sure that those of you that have attended East Zone know that there are people who’s standard are a whole step above us. What set us apart is the when we work together and produce the music from our heart. If we lose this component we might as well give up now. 音乐要发自内心才能进入内心。Let the music be an extension of your passion. We have worked so hard together, and played so hard together as well. This the last league of the race. For the sec 4s this year, SYF will be your last performance as a zaiji member. For the Sec 3s SYF would be the starting point where your will take over. Despite how corny this post sounds, I hope your understand the message I’m trying to convey.

If ur realize, 2 mths is nt a very long time and tby’s standard is like shit. I really really hope ur can see d seriousness of the situation now. Seriously, ur juz have to prac more! Practise will really make perfect. I hope everyone of you can put in extra effort during these crucial 3 mths. If ur are willing, I can stay back every single day aft sch to help ur, be it 15 min, 1 hr or 2 hr, as long as ur want to prac, I will do my best to help ur. I want to see ur put in more effort. I am sure you all know tt tby is 1 of the weakest yue zus in co. do ur really wish to see ttk or wateva conductor shaking their heads when tby plays? Do ur enjoy being to worst yue zu in co? I hope not, so pls pls pls go and prac! I dun wish to scold or ap ur on every single prac, but its juz really sad and fustrating to see the heck care attitude ur show me. Can ur be a bit more entu a bit less heck care than now? If ur take a look at the attendance list, its is horrible. Seriously, how do ur even improve when ur dun even attend prac? It juz shows how irresponsible ur are. So I am begging all of ur.. pls prac more! I reali hope to see more commitment in ur. Tis is d time where I really need all of ur to stay focus and to cooperate wif me. No matter how hopeless ur may feel, nobody will give up on ur, so neva give up on urself. Juz hang on, its only for 3 mths, then ur can have a long break from tis. Last but not least, I wld like to emphasize again, pls go and prac more ! tis is the time where we all muz be united and work towards the same goal!

Hi Girls and few guys,

It’s been along while since anyone posted any new entries. Hmmm…. Why? A feasible solution is to force everyone to blog. The same people keep posting. We need fresh blood.
Where’s all the others? How come the LAODA never blogged at all? Hoi!

I think that the atmosphere for orientation was the best ever. Even my friend from NPCC said he would seriously consider joining if years ago it was this good. Thumbs up for EVERYONE!

However, how come TBY like not enough energy compared to other yue zu, they seems so much more fun and noisy. It’s good to be noisy at times like this. Musically, it just keep going down song after song. Worse to worst…

During the performance, like super unprepared. Look at the YQ for eg. they look like they just returned from 2.4km run, hair stuck to face sticky with sweat, panting and gasping, how to play well? The two songs Mang Chun and D-Tanjong are exceptionally fun songs, please put in more energy, dun so lazy, cannot bear to move fingers, too dead.

Sometimes I really wonder if you all actually did practice at home the NECESSARY songs, or did not even practice at all. If you are hopefully practicing, then maybe you used the wrong method.

On a lighter note, I think TBY like have a lot of girls, who gather in CO room after school, not bad, but can still interact with each other more. ZR talk more to YQ, PIPA talk more to DR ant the permutation goes on.

Continue to work hard! HARDER!

Firstly, 弹拨乐rocks! Anyone disagrees?

Secondly, I think chalet quite successful but then lack of something. The food din finish, so many satays and otahs left, extremely wasteful!

No one broght mahjong! No one brought X-BOX GAMES, KIMBERLY ur fault!

Then PRAISE Kimberly for bringing BADMINTON rackets!

Then I lazy type… who ask the thing all lost.

Next time seniors come back go talk to them or else they wun come back again.
I have a suggestion to prida and serene, can post activities on the blog so ppl can see.

Last most important point, TBY outing! 暗示。。。
